The TARA meet on the first Friday of each month - 2pm at the Latin Gardens Communal Hall, Scawsby.

Latin Gardens and Emley Drive TARA have been running for two years now. In that time we have worked together with members of our community, St. Leger Homes of Doncaster, Doncaster Metropolitan Borough Council, Police and other partners to create a better area in which to live.

The TARA have been working together with Jim Shaw of Living Streets to develop the area they represent Living Streets is an organisation which encourages and promotes creating enjoyable spaces for all in local areas.

The work started back in 2009 with the Scawsby Audit. The audit looked at ways in which the area could be developed to create a better living space. The first phase of the work was opened on Thursday 20 May, 2010 when the TARA and Rosedale Primary School along with representatives from St. Leger Homes, Doncaster Metropolitan Borough Council and Jim Shaw of Living Streets unveiled the new garden at the infant school entrance.

Pupils from Rosedale celebrated in style with each class using an innovative method of walking around the school grounds after taking in a look of their new flower bed. Reception pupils were the winners of leisure passes for the Dome when dressed as Pirates they sang their way around the grounds. Other school years became Human Daisy Chains, Hungry Caterpillars and Rock Climbers.

Michelle Heeley , Chair of the TARA said "it has been a privelige working together with all the partners, we are thrilled to receive the Good Neighbourhood Award from Living Streets" .

Following this success the TARA has also scooped first prize in the Doncaster in Bloom 2010 community competition. Michelle commented that winning this section of the competition was very moving for her as the award has been named after the late Lyn Ralph who formally chaired the Doncaster Federation of Tenant's and Resident's Associations.
